In the 1980s, Japan began tooling up and experimenting with exotic materials in fine and light engineering. During this period, it became the world-leader in the manufacture of specialized eyewear and frames.

It was to Fukui Megane Co. Ltd, in the town of Sabae, that Ray-Ban turned in search of a partner to match its own pursuit of excellence for the introduction of titanium frames. Today merging their unique and finely-honed skills with Ray-Ban’s creative forces, they work side-by-side in the development of a limited range of iconic products.

Why titanium?

Titanium is a lightweight, high-strength, low-corrosion structural metal used in alloy form for parts in high-speed aircraft and space rockets and satellites. It is, for many in the world of lightweight and fine engineering, the Holy Grail.

The superior quality Japanese titanium used in the Ray-Ban Titanium Collection embodies luxury itself too. One of the world’s finest metals, pure titanium is nickel-free and hypoallergenic, making it suitable for even the most sensitive skins.

Exceptionally light and flexible, titanium weighs 45% less than steel but is just as strong. The result? All-day comfort that is designed to last a lifetime.

Each color is offered in three styles. The titanium frames are mounted with crystal lenses with anti-reflective coating – Polarized lenses are also available.

Made for the most discerning of individuals – those who never compromise on quality or style – the elegant color palate offers subtle brushed metal tones of white gold with green lenses, antique gold with grey lenses, pewter with blue lenses and shiny white gold with crystal green polarized lenses.
